Golden Crescent Children’s Discovery Museum to Host Gala | Entertainment
The Golden Crescent Children’s Discovery Museum gala, which has become a delicious street side meal provided to take away due to the pandemic, will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on September 16.
The theme of the gala is “Party people”. Meals will be collected from the museum, 1205 Sam Houston Drive in Victoria, where they will be delivered to sponsors.
John Welder, owner of Food Catering, will prepare the meals, which will include a green salad of strawberries, feta and candied walnuts with a light vinaigrette; pork tenderloin sliders on toast with chipotle mayo; mac and cheese topped with bacon; and green beans with caramelized onions.
The silent auction will be set up at the museum the week before the Gala so people can view the selections at their leisure.
The silent auction online auction will begin September 13 and end at 10 p.m. September 16 Auction items include offshore fishing trip, $ 500 gift card to Cotton Belles Boutique and Co., luxury picnic basket and gift card, hunting trip in Argentina, a vacation in a house in Port O’Connor, spa services and a huge wine basket, among other things.
Tickets for the $ 1,500 Visa gift card cost $ 25 each and are available for purchase in line. Only 150 tickets will be sold.
The money raised by the gala will be used to bring “amazing” exhibits to the museum, camp grants for children and museum operations, said Ashley Bures-Henderson, museum board member and gala chairperson .
