Inauguration of the Hyatt Centric Downtown SacramentoThe Hyatt Centric Downtown Sacramento on the 7th and L, celebrated its opening on December 9th, 2021! General Manager Paul Resch and Presidio Associate Guneet Bajwa welcomed Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg, Executive Director of the Downtown Sacramento Partnership, and Kimo Bertram of Hyatt Hotels Corporation to participate in a ribbon cutting in the lobby of the ‘hotel. Guests sampled light bites created by hotel chef Ravin Patel and enjoyed samples of the cocktail program featured in the hotel’s restaurant, 7thStreet Standard, and the rooftop lounge, Clayton Club. Guests also had the chance to view the Hyatt Centric’s bedrooms and banquet hall, Baby Grand. Harley White Jr. Orchestra provided jazz music reminiscent of the heyday of the Historic Marshall Hotel (and the Clayton Hotel) which once hosted guests in the same location. Clayton had operated the Pacific Water Care and Health Institute on nearby 7th and L streets. The Clayton Hotel was sold in 1939 and renamed “Hotel Marshall” in honor of James Wilson Marshall (1810-1885), the man who discovered gold at Sutter’s Mill on the American River on the 24th. / 01/1848.

ME-ONE Foundation fundraiserMe-One Foundation, a live and virtual fundraiser, took place on December 2 at the Foothills Bowl in Auburn. A taste of the foothills with bowling, dinner, wine and FSActions’s Freddie Silveria. One goal: to offer adult cancer patients and their loved ones a relaxing and enjoyable three-day family retreat against cancer. This carefree, free retreat, Camp Wieser, offers families time to reflect, pamper themselves and have fun, a much-needed vacation away from the hustle and bustle of doctor’s appointments, paperwork and treatments.

The Sacramento Children’s Home operates the only crisis nursery in the county . The mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect by providing support to families in times of crisis. Sacramento Crisis Nursery is a family strengthening program, where parents can bring their children aged 0 to 5 to one of two Sacramento nurseries for emergency child care or nursing care. night during difficult times.

The Sac Cultural Hub Media Foundation Annual Outstanding Women of Color AwardsThe Sac Cultural Hub Media Foundation (SCHMF) presented on September 28 the 13th edition of the Outstanding Women of Color Awards and Exhibition (EWOC). The theme of this year’s event was “Women of Color Changing the Face of History”. The event was held at Scott’s Seafood on the River inside the Portofino Pavilion in Sacramento with red carpet arrivals and the inauguration of the SCHMF Expo recognized 12 diverse women from Northern California for their accomplishments in their professions and their community.
