Science Museum to Host Annual Free Admission Day on Monday | Local News

The Buffalo Museum of Science is hosting its annual Community Health Day on Monday, when admission is free.

With many schools and workplaces closing Monday in observance of June 19, families have the opportunity to explore the museum for free.

Activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., including the Juneteenth story time, a scavenger hunt, and a health and science quiz. Some activities will take place at the adjacent Martin Luther King Jr. Park, weather permitting.

The documentary “Echoes of Rebirth” will be screened at 2 p.m. in the auditorium and will last approximately 20 minutes. The film focuses on the history of Africa, from the slave trade to the globalization of the 21st century. A discussion will take place after the film.

Customers can bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Teen STEM Initiative Family Food and Care Drive. Donations will support East Side families waiting for Tops to reopen on Jefferson Avenue after the May 14 massacre that temporarily closed the supermarket.
